Motivating Students - Independent, Goal-oriented Learners

Introduction

In this tutorial, you will see how to expand critical communication skills that foster teacher and student collaboration in applying learning to goals. You will be guided in learning and practicing communication methods to motivate students to overcome ambivalence and barriers, so that students can reach their goals. You will also learn how to guide students to develop the energy, desire, and self-confidence to take action about what they are learning. The information in the tutorial will help you to name and identify change theories, recognize the general motivational principles associated with collaborative relationships, and become aware of roadblocks to change.
